Biden’s Immigration Reform Proposal Explained
Democratic lawmakers in the U.S. Congress introduced an immigration bill Thursday that would create an eight-year path to citizenship for millions of unauthorized immigrants in the U.S. while also providing a fast track to citizenship for those brought to the country illegally as children.What does a path to U.S. citizenship look like under the This undated image from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services shows the front of a sample “green card,” formally known as a permanent resident card.After three years of green card status, an immigrant would be eligible to apply for U.S. citizenship.Someone with LPI status could legally work and travel outside the U.S. and be lawfully admitted back into the country. Those going through the LPI process would be protected from deportation while the government is deciding their applications.Does the bill cover people with valid nonimmigrant visas?No. Those living temporarily in the United States or visiting the country would not be covered under the bill.Are there any visa holders who could apply for LPI status?Yes. LPI status could be granted to temporary agricultural workers (H-2A visa holders) and a “noncitizen who has engaged in essential critical infrastructure labor or services” in the United States, according to the text of the bill.Which groups do not have to apply for LPI?Those who qualify for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) or who are already enrolled in the program, Temporary Protected Status holders and those who have been agricultural workers for at least five years will be able to apply directly for a green card, then wait five years to be eligible for U.S. citizenship.What about criminal convictions?Currently, dismissed or vacated convictions can still be considered by U.S. immigration courts.“[The proposed bill] takes that out … so charges that were dismissed, immigration courts can’t consider it anymore,” Ahmad said.But the proposal excludes those who have committed three misdemeanors or were convicted of a felony. Democrats Unveil US Citizenship Bill
U.S. Democratic lawmakers introduced President Joe Biden’s immigration bill Thursday that would provide one of the quickest routes to citizenship of any proposed legislation in recent years.The measure, which would allow some 11 million current U.S. residents to become citizens within eight years, includes an increase in visas and funding for processing asylum applications.The bill also would enhance technology at the U.S.-Mexico border, expand international drug interdiction task forces in Central America, and attempt to ease backlogs at the border by establishing refugee processing in the region. The measure would immediately provide green cards to farm workers, people with temporary protected status and young people who entered the U.S. illegally as children, allowing them to live and work permanently in the U.S.The bill reflects the priorities Biden presented on his first day in office and was sponsored by 12 Democratic lawmakers, including lead sponsors Senator Bob Menendez and Congresswoman Linda Sanchez. “It will modernize our system, offer a path to citizenship for hardworking people in our communities, reunite families, increase our opportunities for legal immigration and ensure America remains a powerhouse for innovation and a beacon of hope to refugees around the world,” Menendez said, as he unveiled details of the bill at a virtual news conference.Comprehensive immigration reform has failed to gain meaningful support in Congress for decades. It last passed a significant citizenship measure in 1986, when Republican President Ronald Reagan signed an amnesty bill legalizing nearly 3 million illegal immigrants.Some Republican senators already have voiced opposition to major proposals in the bill, as has the political arm of the conservative Heritage Foundation.“This latest move would only further harm American workers already struggling from our health and economic national crises caused by the ongoing pandemic and our government’s response,” said Heritage Action Executive Director Jessica Anderson.
While Democrats have a majority in the House, the 100-member Senate is split 50-50 between Democrats and Republicans. Vice President Kamala Harris would cast the tie-breaking vote if necessary.

Former US Senator Dole Says He Has Lung Cancer
Former U.S. Republican Senator Bob Dole, who unsuccessfully ran for president in 1996, said on Thursday that he has been diagnosed with advanced lung cancer and will undergo treatment beginning next week.

He was soundly defeated by President Bill Clinton in the 1996 presidential election with Dole winning 40.7% of the vote to Clinton’s 49.2%.
Dole suffered serious wounds in Italy during World War II that resulted in a long hospitalization.

Правоохоронці відкрили провадження за фактом зникнення чоловіка, вбитого ФСБ на кордоні з Росією – прокуратура
Головне управління поліції Сумської області відкрило кримінальне провадження за фактом зникнення безвісти українця Євгена Голубєва, якого вбили у грудні 2020 року на кордоні з Росією. Про це повідомили у Сумській місцевій прокуратурі у відповідь на запит Радіо Свобода.
«Слідчий відділ сумського районного управління поліції ГУНП в Сумській області внесено відомості до Єдиного реєстру досудових розслідувань за фактом безвісно зникнення Голубєва Євгена», – мовиться в повідомленні.
В прокуратурі також додали, що досудове розслідування у межах провадження триває.
Як повідомляло Радіо Свобода, Державна прикордонна служба України не може підтвердити особу та повідомити обставини смерті громадянина України Євгена Голубєва у грудні 2020 року на кордоні з Росією.
Міністерство закордонних справ України не має офіційної інформації щодо загибелі українця Євгена Голубєва у грудні 2020 року на кордоні з Росією.
«Незважаючи на неодноразові звернення Посольства України в Російській Федерації до Міністерства закордонних справ та правоохоронних органів РФ, станом на 15 лютого 2021 року російська сторона офіційно не підтвердила факт загибелі Євгена Голубєва на території Росії… Офіційна інформація щодо обставин загибелі Євгена Голубєва у МЗС України наразі відсутня», – розповіли в МЗС.
У міністерстві додали, що за даними МЗС Росії, Голубєв залишив територію Росії 30 березня 2019 року.
На території Росії в ніч на 4 грудня 2020 року загинув громадянин України, житель Сумської області Голубєв Євген Володимирович (1 березня 1993 року народження).
Раніше 4 грудня 2020-го Федеральна служба безпеки Росії повідомила, що на кордоні Росії та України сталася стрілянина. За версією відомства, троє невідомих осіб зі зброєю нібито намагалися прорватися до Росії з території України.
«На ділянці прикордонного управління ФСБ Росії по Бєлгородській та Воронезькій областях 4 грудня 2002-го прикордонний наряд запобіг спробі порушення кордону з України до РФ трьома озброєними невідомими», – йдеться в повідомленні ФСБ.
У ФСБ заявили, що в результаті перестрілки з прикордонниками одна озброєна особа була вбита, двоє зникли «на території України».
В Державній прикордонній службі України за підсумками зустрічі 4 грудня 2020-го з представниками Прикордонної служби ФСБ РФ повідомили, що російська сторона не надала підтверджень порушення свого кордону з українського боку.

У Мінветеранів назвали кількість людей в Україні зі статусом учасника бойових дій
У Міністерстві у справах ветеранів України повідомили, що статус учасника бойових дій на сьогодні мають понад 405 тисяч людей. Про це йдеться у відповіді на запит Радіо Свобода.
«Станом на 01.02.2021 року до Реєстру (Єдиний реєстр учасників антитерористичної операції та осіб, які брали участь у здійсненні заходів із забезпечення національної безпеки і оборони, відсічі і стримування збройної агресії Російської Федерації в Донецькій та Луганській областях, забезпеченні їх здійснення – ред.) внесена інформація про 405 711 учасників бойових дій (серед них жінок – 19 402), в тому числі в 2020 році – про 27 293 учасників бойових дій, в 2021 році – про 303 учасника бойових дій», – йдеться у відповіді на запит Радіо Свобода.
Збройний конфлікт на Донбасі триває від 2014 року після російської окупації Криму. Україна і Захід звинувачують Росію у збройній підтримці бойовиків. Кремль відкидає ці звинувачення і заявляє, що на Донбасі можуть перебувати хіба що російські «добровольці».
За даними ООН, від квітня 2014-го до 31 липня 2020 року внаслідок збройного конфлікту на Донбасі загинули від 13 100 до 13 300 людей.

У ДПСУ не змогли підтвердити особу та обставини смерті чоловіка, вбитого ФСБ на кордоні з Росією
Державна прикордонна служба України не може підтвердити особу та повідомити обставини смерті громадянина України Євгена Голубєва у грудні 2020 року на кордоні з Росією. Про це заявили у ДПСУ у відповідь на запит Радіо Свобода.
«Державна прикордонна служба України не може повідомити про обставини смерті даного громадянина і підтвердити його особу, оскільки ситуація відбувалася на території Російської Федерації. Про отриману від російської сторони інформацію щодо особи загиблого Сумський прикордонний загін повідомив відповідні правоохоронні органи для проведення подальшої перевірки», – зазначили у Держприкордонслужбі.
У ДПСУ розповіли, що ситуація, ймовірно, сталася в ніч з 3 на 4 грудня 2020 року. Стосовно цього з російською стороною провели низку зустрічей.

За даними ДПСУ, російська сторона не надала жодних доказів факту порушення режиму державного кордону.

У ході проведення останньої зустрічі російська сторона також зазначила прізвище, ім’я та по батькові громадянина, який, за їх інформацією, є громадянином України. Цей факт, нібито, встановлено слідчими органами Російської Федерації», – додали в ДПСУ.

Despite Senate Acquittal, Trump Faces Many Legal Problems
As president, Donald Trump was immune from criminal prosecution and civil liability.But now that he is a private citizen, he no longer enjoys the cloak of presidential immunity — and his legal troubles are starting to pile up.On Tuesday, just three days after the Senate acquitted him of an impeachment charge of inciting the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, Trump was sued over the riot in federal court by a prominent U.S. Democratic representative.The suit by Congressman Bennie Thompson of Mississippi, chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, accuses Trump, his personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani and two far-right groups of conspiring to incite the riot to prevent congressional certification of Democrat Joe Biden’s presidential election victory.The lawsuit is likely to be the first of many. But Trump’s legal troubles are not limited to his role in the riot. Ongoing investigations in New York and other lawsuits are likely to keep him “wrapped up” for years, said Sarah Tuberville of the Project on Government Oversight.“I think one of his biggest perils now is that the many defenses that he had before, both legal, as well as political, are not available to him” outside of office, Tuberville said.Jason Miller, a spokesperson for the former president, called the investigations and lawsuits “nakedly partisan stuff that we’re seeing from partisan Democrats.”Despite growing calls from Democrats for the Department of Justice to investigate Trump’s role in the Jan. 6 attack, it remains uncertain whether the law enforcement agency will undertake such a politically charged probe.Biden has said he will leave it up to his incoming attorney general, Merrick Garland, to decide whether to investigate or prosecute Trump. The question is likely to dominate Garland’s confirmation hearings set for next week.Here is a look at some of the civil and criminal cases that Trump now faces.GeorgiaFani Willis, the top prosecutor for Fulton County, Georgia, is investigating whether Trump broke state law when he pressed top officials in the battleground state to reverse his election loss to Biden.At the heart of the investigation is a Jan. 2 phone call Trump made to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger in which Trump asked Raffensperger to “find” him enough votes to change the outcome of the election in the state.In a Feb. 10 letter to top Georgia officials, Willis wrote that the criminal investigation is a high priority for her office and that she is examining a wide range of potential violations, from solicitation of election fraud to violence or threats related to the election’s administration.Kimberly Wehle, a former federal prosecutor and now a law professor at the University of Baltimore, said the investigation appears to be moving along “in a serious way.”“That’s because we know what the evidence is, and it’s pretty clear what happened,” Wehle said.New YorkFor more than two years, New York State Attorney General Letitia James and Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. have been investigating Trump and his real estate empire, The Trump Organization, for alleged fraud and financial improprieties.Vance’s civil probe grew out of former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen’s 2019 congressional testimony during which he alleged that Trump committed financial crimes by manipulating the value of his real estate assets over a period of several years.The investigation appears to be gathering steam. Last month, a New York Supreme Court judge ordered The Trump Organization to turn over documents to James’ office.The separate criminal investigation, led by Vance’s office, began in 2018 as a probe of “hush money” payments that Cohen made in 2016 to two women who allegedly had extramarital affairs with Trump. Cohen subsequently served time for tax evasion, campaign finance violations and perjury in connection with the payments.The Vance investigation resumed after federal prosecutors closed the case in 2019 without charging Trump, and it has since widened to include a range of criminal violations, from tax and insurance fraud to falsifying business records.While Trump has yet to turn over his financial records to Vance despite a Supreme Court ruling last year, the investigation appears to be picking up, with Vance’s office reportedly hiring forensic experts to aid with the probe.District of ColumbiaDistrict of Columbia Attorney General Karl Racine’s office is looking into whether Trump’s role in the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol violated a local anti-riot statute, a spokesperson told VOA.Racine’s jurisdiction is limited to enforcing the capital city’s code. The more than 200 rioters arrested to date have all been federally charged.Under Washington’s local code, “rioting or inciting to riot” is a misdemeanor punishable by up to six months in prison. Racine’s office has not decided whether to move ahead with a charge under the code, the spokesperson said.Wehle said that while a misdemeanor is “not a serious disincentive,” it would put a “stain on (Trump’s) presidency.”DefamationTrump faces a pair of defamation lawsuits brought by two women who have accused him of sexual misconduct. In 2019, E. Jean Carroll, a former Elle magazine columnist, sued him for defamation after he denied her accusation that he raped her in a New York department store in the 1990s, saying she is “not my type” and “it never happened.”Shortly before Trump left office on Jan. 20, the Justice Department argued in court that as president, Trump was an “employee of the government” and could not be sued. But now that he is a private citizen, he can no longer claim immunity, Wehle said.Summer Zervos, a former contestant on The Apprentice, the reality show hosted by Trump that premiered in 2004, sued him for calling her a liar after she accused him of sexually assaulting her in 2007. Last week, Zervos asked a New York court to allow her lawsuit to proceed now that Trump is out of office.InsurrectionThe lawsuit by Thompson alleges that false election claims by Trump and Giuliani fomented the Jan. 6 riot and the two extremist groups — the Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers — in violation of the Ku Klux Klan Act, an 1871 law barring violent interference in congressional constitutional duties.

«Це нормальна процедура»: мер Боярки пояснив відсторення директорки ліцею, де отруїлися дівчата
Міський голова Боярки Київської області Олександр Зарубін в коментарі Радо Свобода назав «нормальною процедурою» рішення відсторонити без збережння заробітної плати Світлану Сушко, директорку ліцею, в стінах якого дві школярки отруїлися таблетками.
«На час слідства, поки працюють слідчі. Ми ж не звільняємо. Це нормальна процедура, так воно має бути», – сказав мер у коментарі Радіо Свобода.
В оприлюдненому Зарубіним розпорядженні зазначено, що службове розслідування щодо можливого неналежного виконання Сушко Світланою службових обов’язків та повноважень» проводитиметься з 18 лютого по 17 березня поточного року.
«Якщо буде швидше – буде швидше, як поліція спрацює, так і буде по термінах. Зараз ми зробимо комісію, до якої включимо спеціалістів відділу освіти, можливо депутатський корпус. Хочемо вивчити всі документи. Разом із поліцією, звісно. Ми не будемо втручатися у їхню діяльність. Але ми зі свого боку теж маємо дати оцінку цій ситуації», – додав Зарубін.
Міський голова додав, що планує у четвер зустрітися із батьками дівчат.
За фактом отруєння двох школярок у Боярці було відкрите кримінальне провадження за частиною 3 статті 120 Кримінального кодексу України (доведення до самогубства неповнолітніх осіб).
Процесуальне керівництво у провадженні здійснюватимуть ювенальні прокурори Київської обласної прокуратури.
Як раніше повідомили у поліції, дівчата подивилися відео в одній із популярних соціальних мереж із закликом спробувати медичний препарат. На перерві учениці придбали в аптеці «Дротаверин» і вжили кожна по 40 таблеток в приміщенні школи. Дівчат у непритомному стані знайшли однокласниці.
За даними поліції, медики, які прибули на місце події, констатували смерть 13-річної дівчини, її 12-річну подругу доправили до медичного закладу. Наразі життю другої дівчини нічого не загрожує. Причиною смерті школярки у прокуратурі назвали отруєння великою кількістю препарату «Дротаверин», що призвело до зупинки серця внаслідок різкого падіння артеріального тиску.
Поліцейські встановили провізорів, які зізналися у тому, що продали лікарський препарат дітям.

President Joe Biden has picked a former Obama administration official to run the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The agency oversees government health insurance programs covering more than 1 out of 3 Americans and is a linchpin of the health care system.If confirmed by the Senate, Chiquita Brooks-LaSure would be the first Black woman to head CMS, which has under its umbrella Medicare, Medicaid, children’s health insurance and the Affordable Care Act, better known as “Obamacare.” The programs cover more than 130 million people, from newborns to nursing home residents.Brooks-LaSure has a long track record in government, having held health policy jobs at the White House, in Congress, and at CMS during the Obama administration. Most recently she led the Biden transition’s “landing team” for the Department of Health and Human Services, laying the groundwork for the new administration. Before her return to government service, Brooks-LaSure was a managing director at the Manatt Health consultancy.Her nomination was confirmed by a person familiar with the White House decision, who spoke on condition of anonymity ahead of a formal announcement.CMS also plays a central role in the nation’s $4 trillion health care economy, setting Medicare payment rates for hospitals, doctors, labs and other service providers. Government payment levels become the foundation for private insurers. «Не важливо, чи українці приїхали на кілька місяців, чи народилися в Чехії, сподіваюся, що наш інформаційний ролик буде корисним. Підтримуйте свою культуру і гідність», – наголосив у коментарі Радіо Свобода голова громадської організації Богдан Райчинець.
Учасники ролика – оперний співак, працівниця готелю, будівельник, вчителька, юрист і керівниця хору – закликають українців у Чехії мати спільний голос і не цуратися свого.
Перепис населення у Чехії має розпочатися з 26 на 27 березня цього року. Електронну форму можна заповнити до 9 квітня, а після цього – з 17 квітня до 11 травня –потрібно заповнити друкований бланк.
Участь у переписі є обов’язковою, за відмову громадянам загрожують високі штрафи у розмірі 10 тисяч крон (це приблизно 500 доларів).
На офіційному сайті про перепис чеського уряду є інструкції різними мовами, включно з українською.
Станом на кінець 2020 року в Чехії офіційно жило майже 166 тисяч українців – це найбільша меншина в країні.

У 2020 році у 13 разів збільшилася кількість підозр правоохоронцям у катуванні, повідомила у фейсбуці генеральна прокурорка України Ірина Венедіктова.
«За 2020 рік ми значно наростили ефективність за багатьма напрямами. Зокрема, маємо найкращий результат із викриття організованих злочинних груп за останні 6 років. У 13 разів збільшилася кількість підозр правоохоронцям у катуванні. Передусім, завдяки відновленню координації – координаційна нарада з цього питання була проведена вперше за 10 років», – написала Венедіктова за підсумками звіту в комітеті Верховної Ради з питань правоохоронної діяльності про роботу прокуратури у 2020 році.
За її словами, краще спрацювали прокурори і у сфері представництва інтересів держави у судах.
«Торік на їхній захист пред’явлено позовів на суму майже вдвічі більшу, ніж у 2019 році, – 41,1 мільярла гривень. Судами задоволено позови та добровільно відшкодовано відповідачами близько 23 мільярди гривень, що теж майже на половину більше», – зазначила генпрокурор.
Венедіктова додала, що наразі 7157 прокурорів пройшли атестацію.
Раніше Ірина Венедіктова заявила, що в рамках розпочатого у 2019 році процесу реформування органів прокуратури завершено основний етап кадрового перезавантаження.
Нещодавно Державне бюро розслідувань повідомило, що підозрює двох черкаських поліцейських у катуванні.
У грудні Державне бюро розслідувань вручило п’ятьом поліцейським обвинувальні акти в справі про катування та зґвалтування в Кагарлику Київської області.

На платформі трьох станцій метро в Києві встановили дефібрилятори
Автоматичні дефібрилятори 17 лютого встановили на станціях «Хрещатик», «Театральна» і «Політехнічний інститут» Київського метрополітену, повідомила пресслужба метро.
Загалом планують встановити 19 дефібриляторів на станціях у відкритому доступі. Провести роботи заплановано до 1 березня, повідомили в метрополітені.
У жовтні у метрополітені на запит Радіо Свобода повідомили, що на касах і в офісі поліції метро зберігаються 53 дефібрилятори.
Дефібрилятори з’явились у Київському метрополітені з ініціативи активістів, зокрема, ініціативи РеаніМетро.
Активісти наполягали на тому, що дефібрилятори повинні бути доступними кожному пасажиру, тож встановлювати їх слід на платформах.
Метрополітен відмовлявся це робити, аргументуючи тим, що піклується про цілісність дефібриляторів.

No president has ever gone through anything like it,” he said.As an expert on free speech and the First Amendment, Kitrosser said she found the argument that Trump’s words are constitutionally protected to be “unconvincing.”“It struck me that the main First Amendment argument they were trying to make was to suggest that the same standard applies here, as though Trump were, as the House managers put it, just some guy who was speaking out at a rally and he was being prosecuted for it,” Kitrosser said.With the disclaimer that impeachment “is a political trial” and not a legal one, Isgur notes that both sides went into the process with a similar understanding: conviction is highly unlikely.“And I think in that case, their audience becomes immediately the American public, and their metric of success most likely becomes the next election.”For the House and Senate, that is November 2022.

У МВС очікують зниження смертності на дорогах на 10-15% завдяки новому закону про штрафи
У Міністерстві внутрішніх справ очікують, що після набрання чинності законом, який посилює відповідальність за перевищення швидкості та водіння у стані сп’яніння, смертність на дорогах знизиться на 10-15%. Про це заявив заступник голови МВС Антон Геращенка.
«Ухвалення даного законопроєкту – це велика перемога і крок вперед. Парламентарі підтримали проєкт закону дещо в обрізаному вигляді, зокрема, не підтримали норми про заборону водіям виходити з авто без дозволу поліцейського. А також збільшили розмір штрафу за перевищення швидкісного режиму до 1700 гривень», – сказав Геращенко.
За його словами, після вступу закону в дію, поліцейські будуть зобов’язані ставити знаки, які попереджають про режим контролю швидкості.
Верховна Рада України 15 лютого ухвалила в другому читанні і в цілому законопроєкт № 2695 «Про внесення змін до деяких законодавчих актів України щодо посилення відповідальності за окремі правопорушення у сфері безпеки дорожнього руху».
Відповідно до законопроєкту:
посилено відповідальність за керування транспортними засобами, річковими, морськими або маломірними суднами в стані алкогольного, наркотичного чи іншого сп’яніння;
змінено механізм притягнення до відповідальності за адміністративні правопорушення, зафіксовані в автоматичному режимі;
легалізовано використання поліцейськими технічних засобів відеозапису з обов’язковим долученням матеріалів відеофіксації до протоколу про адміністративне правопорушення.
Також, відповідно до закону, збільшуються розміри штрафів:
за перевищення швидкості руху більш як на 50 км/год – з 510 до 1700 гривень;
за залишення місця ДТП – з 255 до 3400 гривень з позбавленням права керування транспортним засобом на строк 1-2 роки або без такого.
за керування або передачу керування транспортним засобом особою, яка не має права ним керувати, – з 510 до 3400 гривень, а повторне протягом року – 40800 гривень з позбавленням права керування транспортним засобом на строк від 5 до 7 років;
за керування транспортним засобом особою, яка була позбавлена такого права, – з 510 до 20400 гривень, а повторне протягом року – 40800 гривень з позбавленням права керування транспортним засобом на строк від 5 до 7 років (можливе також оплатне вилучення транспортного засобу).
Документ встановлює накладення штрафу на водіїв у розмірі однієї тисячі неоподатковуваних мінімумів доходів громадян (17 000 гривень) із позбавленням права керування транспортними засобами на строк один рік за водіння у стані сп’яніння.

В Україні розпочалася реєстрація вакцини від коронавірусу Pfizer – Степанов
В Україні подали заявку про державну реєстрацію вакцини від коронавірусу виробництва Pfizer. Про це повідомив у фейсбук міністр охорони здоров’я Максим Степанов.
«До «Єдиного вікна» МОЗ України подана заява про державну реєстрацію вакцини Комірнаті/Comirnaty, виробництва Pfizer Manufacturing Belgium під зобов’язання для екстреного медичного застосування», – написав Степанов.
Міністр додав, що це вже третя вакцина, реєстрація якої почалася на території України. Наразі на реєстрації знаходяться вакцини проти COVID-19 від Oxford/AstraZeneca та Sinovac.
Раніше міністр охорони здоров’я Максим Степанов розповів, що Україна отримає вакцину від коронавірусу 17 чи 18 лютого.
29 січня заступник міністра охорони здоров’я, головний державний санітарний лікар Віктор Ляшко заявляв, що вакцинація від COVID-19 почнеться в Україні «в районі 15 лютого». За його словами, у лютому Україна отримає 117 тисяч доз вакцини Pfizer-BioNTech у межах співпраці з COVAX.
Президент Володимир Зеленський повідомляв, що в Україні мають намір охопити вакцинацією від COVID-19 щонайменше половину населення протягом цього і на початку 2022 року. Україна домовилась про постачання вакцин від компаній Pfizer, Sinovac, AstraZeneсa і Novavах.

Українська сезонна експедиція прибула на станцію «Академік Вернадський»
Учасники сезонної української експедиції дісталися Антарктиди, прибувши сьогодні на станцію «Академік Вернадський», повідомляє Національний антарктичний науковий центр Міністерства освіти і науки.
«В експедицію увійшло 18 учасників – науковці, що проводитимуть дослідження та відбір зразків, і технічні спеціалісти, які займатимуться модернізацією станції. Команда вирушила з Києва 20 січня цього року, через Туреччину та Бразилію прилетіла до Чилі, де провела більше двох тижнів карантину в портовому містечку Пунта-Аренас. 9 лютого експедиція почала шлях в Антарктиду морем на кораблі Betanzos. І ось, подолавши найбурхливішу в світі протоку Дрейка, дісталася станції», – йдеться в повідомленні.
Повідомляється, що експедиція має оновити значну частину систем життєзабезпечення станції.

«Зараз вперше проводиться масштабна модернізація станції за весь той час, що вона належить Україні. Національний антарктичний науковий центр вказує, що також вчені на станції отримають нові можливості для дослідження озонової діри – буде встановлено програмне забезпечення, яке дозволить проводити попередній аналіз отриманих даних щодо концентрації озону безпосередньо на «Вернадському».
Сезонна експедиція вирушила на українську антарктичну станцію «Академік Вернадський» 20 січня.
Велика Британія передала Україні свою станцію «Фарадей» в 1995 році. Згодом назву станції змінили на «Академік Вернадський» на честь українського вченого, академіка Володимира Вернадського. Перша українська антарктична експедиція відбулася в 1996 році.

МЗС України не має офіційної інформації про загибель чоловіка, вбитого ФСБ на кордоні з Росією
Міністерство закордонних справ України не має офіційної інформації щодо загибелі українця Євгена Голубєва у грудні 2020 року на кордоні з Росією. Про це повідомили в МЗС у відповідь на запит Радіо Свобода.
«Незважаючи на неодноразові звернення Посольства України в Російській Федерації до Міністерства закордонних справ та правоохоронних органів РФ, станом на 15 лютого 2021 року російська сторона офіційно не підтвердила факт загибелі Євгена Голубєва на території Росії… Офіційна інформація щодо обставин загибелі Євгена Голубєва у МЗС України наразі відсутня», – розповіли в МЗС.
У міністерстві додали, що за даними МЗС Росії, Голубєв залишив територію Росії 30 березня 2019 року.

Як повідомляло Радіо Свобода, на території Росії в ніч на 4 грудня 2020 року загинув громадянин України, житель Сумської області Голубєв Євген Володимирович (1 березня 1993 року народження).
За словами співрозмовника Радіо Свобода, вбитий добре відомий місцевим правоохоронцям, був фігурантом кількох кримінальних справ, звинувачувався у хуліганстві та розбої. Часто їздив до прикордонної з Україною Бєлгородської області, де мав друзів. Як кажуть його знайомі, неодноразово організовував там вечірки на озерах «для своїх», які полюбляють рибалити.
Водночас співрозмовник Радіо Свобода у правоохоронних органах зазначив, що попри кримінальне минуле вбитого чоловіка, фактом залишається те, що представники Федеральної служби безпеки Росії вбили цивільну особу і не продемонстрували ніяких доказів його агресивних дій при затриманні.
Раніше 4 грудня 2020-го Федеральна служба безпеки Росії повідомила, що на кордоні Росії та України сталася стрілянина. За версією відомства, троє невідомих осіб зі зброєю нібито намагалися прорватися до Росії з території України.
«На ділянці прикордонного управління ФСБ Росії по Бєлгородській та Воронезькій областях 4 грудня 2002-го прикордонний наряд запобіг спробі порушення кордону з України до РФ трьома озброєними невідомими», – йдеться в повідомленні ФСБ.
У ФСБ заявили, що в результаті перестрілки з прикордонниками одна озброєна особа була вбита, двоє зникли «на території України».
В Державній прикордонній службі України за підсумками зустрічі 4 грудня 2020-го з представниками Прикордонної служби ФСБ РФ повідомили, що російська сторона не надала підтверджень порушення свого кордону з українського боку.
